Happy Solar Eclipse Day! Do you have your special glasses? I do, we are supposed to be within 93% of the total eclipse of the sun. Should be interesting. Now on to what we accomplished this past weekend.

For me? Nothing, zero, zilch. I enjoyed my first weekend as an Empty Nester by helping Angela out with domestic duties and generally just enjoying the weekend. I'm sure once temps start getting lower, I'll find my way back to the work shop.

So how about you? What did you accomplish this weekend? Let us know! We'll gather around again on Friday the 25th to start the process all over again. Until then, have a great week and...

    High Greens!

Nope. No special glasses. We are supposed to be eighty-some percent here. will not be looking toward the sun. Just noticing the faded light during daytime will be interesting enough for my curiosity.

My first full weekend off in some time. Three days not working in the past six weeks, until now. (Unless I am called in tonight...) Looking forward to enjoying photos of what folks here have accomplished!

We will be at 65% -- and, I will not be looking at it - directly.

As for weekend modeling, I installed decoders in a pair of Lifelike SD-7's. And, I visited my close friends open house - he was on a local MRR tour.

Hope Y'all had a great weekend,
    Wolf

Not a whole lot. Went down to the train room with a number of projects in mind to do but mostly ended up running trains. I did add some more figures to add a bit of life to the layout. Some passenger were added to the station platform and some train workers to the fueling facility.

    I had a great weekend.

I finished my control boxes for powering/isolating the various tracks on my layout in progress. They're tested with a multimeter and everything checks out.

I also went to Exporail, the railway museum, for their "A Great Passion for Small Trains" weekend. That's where I got the photo of the guitar case layout (in the Photo Fun thread). I found a couple of books (including An Acquaintance With Alco ) and bought (yet another:ROFLMAO:) coffee mug.

Finished wiring the "Interchange" area. Adjusted several turnouts and got them working correctly (again). Spent time working on a building I kitbashed about 14 years ago using several BarMills one-kits and lower level of Woodland Scenics retail store front. It needed some work after sitting in storage for so long, but its going to look better than ever when I'm done w/ it.

Also as planned, I ran some trains. Did an out/back w/ a mail train yesterday AM, as well as did some swtiching operations . Pretty good weekend.

78% here on the coast. Got our pinhole boxes built and have the real deal glasses. Getting the kids out of school shortly - their school was concerned they couldn't do the watching safely (I.E. keep the kids on school grounds etc) but will excuse an absence after lunch for eclipse viewing. Go figure.

Here's a couple. One just before totality, the other during. One of those nifty shadows the tree leaves were casting before (and after). And a quick grab shot of the sky & some of our party during totality (sorry, blurry shot. Had my settings for the eclipse - no time to change them). Yes, we were in a cemetery, which actually turned out to be a great place for viewing. At least there were shade trees. The nearby town shuttled people out in the middle of a field, baking them in 100 degree heat indexes. We just ducked out from under the leaves every few minutes to check the moon's position.

Note the "night time" lights that came on in the last shot. (Yes, the squiggly lines). It was like a 360 degree twilight during totality.
