The air feels cooler, leaves are changing and according to my calendar, September is about over. Where does the time go? Well, one thing is for sure, it's almost the weekend and time to start the planning of what we want to accomplish this weekend.

Saturday: Part time bachelor again as Angela goes to a soccer game. I on the other hand have a busy day which will start with me liberating Jessica from her hard top and heading to my not so local train shop. I'm helping out a customer who ordered something from the shop I work at and it concerns DCC. Since my not so local hobby shop is the DCC guru, I figure its a great way to spend an afternoon. I need to pick up a decoder for my CB&Q GP30 that I detailed and painted waaaaaaay back in 2004. I figure it will look nice parked somewhere on the layout at this years Trainfest in Milwaukee. While I wait for my FreeMo module kit, I need to sit down and slowly upgrade my two Kato NW2 switchers and new Atlas S2 switcher (Thanks buddy!) to Micro Trains couplers.

Sunday: Is typically Angela and I's "Date Day". I'll work on a few things, mainly my cassettes for the trains but in general, keep it low key.

So how about you? What do you have planned for this weekend? It sure is nice to come in on Mondays and see all the posts of everyone working on their modeling projects, lets keep that up! We'll assemble again on Monday, October 2nd to see how we all did. Until then, enjoy the weekend, stay safe and as always...

    High Greens!

After a wonderful camping trip last weekend, I hope to put a coat of clear flat on my GP-9 back date project (All 5 of them). As the decaling is complete. Other then that - I'll play it by ear. As we will have our Granddaughter from Saturday afternoon until sometime Sunday.

Hope Y'all have a great and productive weekend,
    Wolf

WARNING - actual modeling may occur this weekend. I'm on the road this week and next for work, so I'm taking time out this weekend to visit an N scale buddy on the north side of Baltimore. We'll be tuning my white KCS SW1500, and if I can wrangle a couple of tools I'll get my ICG SW shell fitted to my Bachman NW2 chassis. Aside from the fact that the "SW" is one of the older ConCor cow and calf sets, I got the NW on sale at Trainworld for $59.95 (with Bachman's basic decoder), and since it runs well, I figured it was the easiest way to get DCC in the IC unit. the shell has the right interior dimensions, I just need to modify the walkways. Following that there may be operations of his layout, and an evening bourbon tasting activity.

Got an unexpected surprise in the mail yesterday, some LED lamps ordered from China. They showed up a LOT sooner than I expected. I ordered a power distribution block this morning, so I'll have a few days to test, prep and place these new lights around Weaver Junction.

10 old style single-globe, and 10 new-fangled "parking lot" style.

Not sure how much I will get done this weekend. Monday I was able to wire on full cart and the second is halfway there just needs soldering. The third I haven’t gotten to yet. I will be working extra this week so I might get around to them, I might not.

Tomorrow its back to college football. Will be at NC State - Syracuse game, then watching VA Tech - Clemson Saturday night. Sunday will be in the train room and at the bench. My goal is to solder frog-leads on several turnouts and get them installed as the "east" approach into Albemarle City. With luck, that should happen plus get the track down.

Off to the Sun Youth Train Show, where I'll hopefully pick up some bargain buildings to help fill in some empty lots on my layout-in-progress. Maybe a few other things, but I'll try to stick to structures (not an easy thing to do, as any model railroader would know...:ROFLMAO: ).

It will be a pleasant trip, with a sunny, cool day (the heat wave finally broke Thursday - weather that we should have had in July and August, which were not wanting for rain and below normal temps). I decided on a longer but easier itinerary to the shuttlebus "terminus" and take that down from there. I wouldn't go down to the show site in my car because parking in that area is murder. It's close to downtown Montreal and there's a hospital not far from there (with hospital parking rates, everyone parks in the street somewhere, cluttering up the neighborhoods).

I am home for good now, and am looking forward to doing some rearranging of my apartment. The track on my layout was removed to prevent damage, and I'll be cleaning some of the dust off of it this weekend. Once I get some personal things done, I'll hopefully get my DCC system and I'll finally get my track down permenately. I also got my T-Trak module parts in the mail Saturday. I'm looking forward to getting those together, too! 003.JPG
