Welcome everyone to that gateway to the weekend! I hope you had a great week and are ready to work on some projects this weekend. Let's get started.

Saturday: A fun train day is scheduled for Saturday as my not so local hobby shop is hosting the annual Fall FreeMo set up appropriately named the Cornfield Meet. My buddy Steve is setting up the NTrak modules and I'll be setting up the small HO switching layout I had at RC Fest. My new GP15-1 is 90% set up with the Proto Throttle and I have some borrowed Genesis and RTR cars as well as the new Genesis GP15-1s and GP38-2s from work, so I'm looking forward in spending time with the guys running both HO and N scale.

Sunday: Rather then spend another day running trains, I'm spending time with family as I want to keep a healthy balance on work, hobby time and family time. Angela, her Dad and I plan to go to a local event called the Apple and Pork festival. It is a big deal and I have never been to it so I'm looking forward to it and seeing if I can find some more antiques. Any time left over will be devoted to track planning as I think I finally destroyed the year long mental mind block on the N scale layout. I'm pretty excited so I hope I can start working on the N scale layout again.

So how about you? What do you intend to do during the last weekend of September? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Monday, September 27th to see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, stay safe, stay healthy and as always...

    High Greens!

Will work on mounting my control panel to the fascia of the train table. The fascia board isn't yet mounted to the table, which makes it easier for me to lay things out on the workbench and drill the holes. Much nicer weather has arrived, with low humidity and daytime highs in the upper 70s.

Friday, is bowling night, hope I can replicate the 247-259-180 that I did on Tuesday. Also I may get a Canadian Grain Covered Hopper done today and get the first coat of paint on it this weekend.

Saturday, club meeting in the morning and I may run some trains after the meeting. In the afternoon going to look at the progress on my son's new house that is being built (and when it is done, we can get rid of his junk in the basement and I can start my layout) and dinner afterwards. In the evening may get some decaling done.

Sunday, Wife's birthday, but we will celebrate it ourselves but will probably do a facetime visit with the kids in CA and CO. Will get some painting done along with building some new models.

Will definitely put down more ballast that wasn’t finished last weekend. May also do some framing/risers where the new addition to Albemarle City is going.

The Illini Railroad Club is also going to the Cornfield Meet this weekend, which should be a good time. Before that can happen though, I have to take a physics exam tonight. This last week or two have been midterm week here at school, so I have been taking tests in most of my classes. Free-Mo should be a good reward when I get all my work done.

Friday night is Rally night at my sons best friends high school football game. Rally is an organization that supports childhood cancer and my sons best friend is a survivor. Thus we go out and help with the event every year in support of him and his family.

Saturday is pretty much booked with things that need to be done to the house.

Sunday will all depend on how much gets done Saturday plus getting all the errands and regular around the hose done. Hopefully I may get a few minutes to make it down to the layout

Hope you all have a great weekend!

If the weekend turns out to be as nice as predicated, I will be spending time outside. I have bushes to trim in the backyard. We are thinking about pulling the marigolds out of the fountain garden since they are done for the season and replacing them with mums.

Here is the garden a little over a week ago

I plan on putting back the crossover that I removed while I was working on the engine terminal track layout and the placing the passenger station. I am also looking at starting some scenery around the station area. Frist thing will be painting the pink foam and figuring out streets, parking lots, grassy areas.

Well, the way September has gone for me, I am praying this weekend will be incident free. Ha ha.

Saturday I am hoping to visit the local farmer's market for a last time this season. Thereafter we shall see. I have a new antenna coming for my scanner, which I am hoping will spur my interest in chasing a few trains again. It might arrive by tomorrow, but I have a feeling Monday is a better chance. Meanwhile a few minutes at the modeling workbench to finish my turntable bridge and advance progress on a car kit or two.

This afternoon, I plan on finally finishing the new deck. It has been ongoing for over a year, but the lumber prices caused work to slow down. So, we’re finally going to call it done this weekend.

My layout goals for this weekend include adjusting lower level benchwork for the main subroadbed to extend from the wall corner we cut through last weekend to the back of the HVAC blower unit.

In other exciting news, an active NMRA member from New Jersey has moved into my area and we are making plans to get together and work on each other’s layouts starting in October. So, I need to start making more of the basement finished enough for public viewing…. So I may temporarily transition away from layout work for a couple weekends so I can work on that.

More good posts. No rain here. Will spend some time outdoors. The covered hopper side are done. I am currently working on roof hatches. All "have" safe and "be" fun! :D

Friday: Almost nothing save several sketches about terrain profile and construciton.
Saturday: Glue the last 2 'sections' in place and add as much foam as credible.
Sunday: Paint foam primer white. Make some kind of jig to shape track support for bullet train line. I have so much foam that I intend to make it 6"s off the 2nd level. This will also support the backdrop where appropriate.

This weekend I will be building a cart. This will adjust my staging yard by one foot making it shorter but not n the long run making it easier for operations. I also have to prep the Module for the museum. I will be delivering it next Saturday.
