We have reached that final curve to the highway of the weekend. Do you have big plans? Not much for me this weekend as we as a family are going through some big changes. Jared has his last away tournament in soccer this weekend with two games on Saturday and one on Sunday. It will be a nice get away from all of life's pressures right now and focus on some fun. Hard to believe he will be leaving for college soon, so the more time I get to spend with him, the better. We'll get home sometime Sunday and I hope to finish my project of organizing all of my freight cars by era and road. I still model the Boston & Maine in the 1970's and will occasionally run the Galesburg City Job in the 1970's. Hey, I've always been a sucker for Cascade Green! I'm transferring cars by era into a new set of transport boxes that should not damage those nicely detailed BLMA flat cars and hope to have a tray or two for 1960's and a tray for 1970's. Now what to do with all the modern stuff. Hmmm. I also am slowly thinning out my collection of the older Atlas freight cars that are now defined as Trainmen. If I have time, I hope to get my switch list done for next weekend's last operations session at my house in Illinois. Lets hope time is on my side. So how about you? What is on your modeling agenda this weekend? let us know! We'll all assemble once again on Monday the 12th to see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, stay safe and as always... High Greens!
It's my granddaughters birthday weekend - so, at this point, I'm not sure how much modeling I'll be able to get to. So, I will play it by ear. Ya'll have a spectacular weekend, Wolf
Thanks Jim... enjoy the soccer! This weekend is calling for a myriad of tasks including but not limited to wiring track I've installed, start isolating track blocks fir the signaling, clean up, etc.
As of 5pm, I am officially unemployed. Supposedly, I will be offered a job with a new company, doing the same work, sometime before then. It's been a wild couple of weeks, and right now I'm wound a little too tight to do delicate railroad work. Might just go out back and throw some bricks around instead. LOL
Rocket, hopefully you get a better job with the new offer. As for me, I am waiting on three sheets of styrene so I can start working on a model of a lumber yard that was down the street from the Santa Monica Pacific Electric freight station....damn dog got an infection in his leg and since he weighs 170 pounds, the meds are expensive.
gcav17 handed me this a couple years ago and asked if I could finish it. Got it this far and hope to spend rime with it tomorrow to get it into running shape! There is a butcher job to repair on the steam cylinders and lots of other work. Work, work, work! Earlier this week I did get the wires soldered to the motor tabs, the tender frame stretched and sound module soldering started.
Rocket.. this was posted after I was on the thread Friday. Best of luck to you. We're all behind you.
Oh boy! I just might have my Baltic in time for those kato cars! Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
Rocket, been there, done that. Best of luck, we all hope the next job is better than the last. GOOD LUCK!
