Well we've done it again. We have made it through another week and the weekend is on the Horizon. I hope all the Colonials (myself included) of the United States, had a great Independence Day!

Saturday: I plan to put in a full day of work on my B&M modules. The St. Louis RPM meet is only a few weeks away and I have A LOT to get done. My main goal is to finish up the roadway and get all asphalt and concrete surfaces down so I can get some basic scenery down. The first module was to have a Propane dealer but a lack of era appropriate tank cars has had me switch to placing another small industry there. If I can get the first module about 75 - 85% completed, I won't feel so bad about the second module being somewhat bare.

Sunday: Mixed in with whatever domestic duties are assigned to me, I need to work on the carrier for the B&M modules. Hopefully the weekend will be cooler as they have predicted.

So how about you? What do you have scheduled for the weekend? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Monday the 9th to see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, stay safe and above all...

    High Greens!

I was going to build a pile of small trees today but late trains are changing my mind. Sunday my son wants to work on my dads old layout and shoot a video.

Hopefully air brusing this weekend. I have about 7 cars I've built and modified that need painting. 3 of them will be decaled after the intial painting. The others were already lettered, those will be weathered. Also have a plate girder that needs painting/weathering. Have a busy weekend planned for other "non-train" stuff too, so hope I can atleast knock out the air-brushing. Any time beyond that spent modeling will be a bonus.

One of the ways I celebrated on the 4th was to airbrush some industrial structures for my N Scale layout. A kit bashed Walthers Cornerstone Glacier Gravel kit and a bit of scratch building for a Barite crusher / loader. This weekend I plan to finish and weather those same structures and perhaps get the whole industry done.

Well - we hit 112 here in Orange Countytoday -- it was close to 120 out in Riverside/San Bernardino Counties.
Tomorrow is supposed to be the same - maybe a bit higher.

Well, after the plumbing and water supply issues were dealt with last week I was awarded with the house AC malfunction yesterday. I say awarded because my work truck does not have AC. It topped out at 118 here in Riverside and I lucked out we have a friend who is an AC guy. After he spent all day on a roof he was good enough to do the family and friend tour. We are up and running but he noticed a few items of concern that aren't difficult or expensive to address. Took me some time to tear the unit down and use some coil clean before he arrived. Took him about five minutes to find a blown fuse.

I call that earning my model train time.

I am off for the week and I plan to address the shortcomings of a Digitrax sound decoder and lay track for a small freemoN yard.

So....I primed the cars yesterday and was planning on waking up this morning to shoot them. Well, there is a monsoon coming in, humidity is going up, and I don't have a moisture trap on my compressor.
