Well that is the last time we hear that! After this weekend, 2016 will be a memory, Hasta la vista 2016! 2016 wasn't the greatest year so I can't say I'm sorry to see it go. I am really looking forward to the opportunities 2017 may hold. This is my last weekend "off" from Wiggin Locomotive Works. As such, I don't really have much planned other than to re-visit my childhood and build a Revell '66 Shelby Mustang model kit that Jared gave me for Christmas. I ordered all the paint and supplies so I'm hopping to sit down at the bench, fire up the pod casts and do something different before next weekend. Sunday, we'll celebrate 2017 by more than likely taking down the Christmas decorations and cleaning up the house to return it to normal. I plan on organizing and cleaning the small storage room off the upstairs common room to better get at all the train stuff. The shop may get a deep clean for the coming new year as well. Most of us have Monday off in observance of New years Day so a nice rest may be in order before we start the last chapter in this phase of life. Jared graduates this year and of course we move to NH. There will be a lot of changes in 2017, lets hope they are all good changes. Remember, we'll gather back here on Tuesday, January 3rd to see how we all did. I would like to wish you all a very Happy and Prosperous New Year. Relax, have fun and as always stay safe, we'll see you in 2017! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I plan on making some trees and shrubberies. And, adding more vehicles, people, signage and other detail type stuff to my layout!! HAPPY NEW YEAR - YA'LL. Stay safe, Wolf
Not strictly modeling but a support project: I'll be investigating the merits of a previously unknown-to-me single barrel bourbon presented to me by my son for Christmas.
This weekend I hope to extend the mainline a bit to where a bridge will be located. I ordered a bridge kit this morning for that area and should have it by Tuesday. Also I'm working on riser at the main city. I have the one left over from my previous layout. I saved it because it matches the buildings I kitbashed together. Just cleaning up the track on it. Removed some older track from it this morning and dressed up the roadbed to mate up to the new layout. The other thing I plan on doing is start installing Tortoise machines at some of the turnouts I've already installed along the mainline. I also need to sit down and email Digitrax. I am using a DB150 as an additional booster combined with a DCS100 command booster. I've gone over the directions to do so a billion times, but I am getting a "short" signal on the DB 150 when I put it in booster mode. When I take it out of booster mode, I can get it to work but then it doesn't sync up w/ the DCS100. Gremlins... AHHHH!! Have a great, great new year everyone!!
I have FINALLY gotten to work on her again. I need to do touch-up things but for the most part it is almost done. Hope you enjoy it. Mike
I do not know the story behind it but I have taken pictures of it here in Las Cruces NM. Thanks , Mike
