Well here it is, December. The Christmas and Holiday rush is upon us. Let's see what we can eek out this weekend.

Saturday: Lucy goes in for the rest of her puppy shots this Saturday but once we get back, it will be Lucy and I working in the garage. I'll have to move Jess out of her new bedroom for few hours so I have room to finish up the Christmas display that will go under and around the tree in about a week. I was able to cut the two 0-31 curves out of 1/2-inch plywood and mount the MTH track on top of it with small wood screws. The next step is to sand and finish shape the plywood to a curve that matches the track road bed. Once that is accomplished, I'll be gluing on an apron made from 1/8-inch hardboard cut to length and extended two inches below the track. Kind of a elevated or bridge look. While the curves are drying, I'll make some measurements and cut a few straights (the easy part!) with the table saw and work on the wiring. I may make one stretch a bit wider for an eventual spur and maybe a small station and a few buildings since Angela likes to decorate Christmas villages. Hmmmm.

Sunday: I would like to work on some track planning for the new Galesburg City Job. Fortune shined on me this past year at Milwaukee Trainfest when I was introduced to an individual who not only worked for the Santa Fe, but had switched the City Job a time or two. He was nice enough to mail me copies of his employee Click Book which has the outlines of all the tracks for the City Job! Goldmine! I was pretty accurate with Bill's modules, however the area around Butler needs some work and fortunately, I will not have to lay as many turnouts this time. I'm hoping for a nice quiet morning with his copies in hand, a cup of tea and my layout software.

So how about you? What do you have planned for this first weekend of December? Let us know. We'll come back on Monday the 4th to see how we all did. Also remember! It is officially Christmas Train season. Don't be afraid to post some pictures of your favorite Christmas Train displays, be it around the tree or on your layouts. Until we meet back on Monday, have a great weekend, be productive, be safe and as always...

    High Greens!

    Jim:
I’ll be starting this year’s Winter Layout Party in a couple weeks. Will you be posting Party Progress Reports on the Galesburg Job revisions?

It is Christmas decoration weekend for us. So each time I have to go upstairs to get something out of storage, I am SURE I'll have an excuse to stay in the train room and "nudge" something along. Now that I have all of the plywood in, I hope to put down more homasoate roadbed. Will be using 1/4" sheet cork in the areas that will have tunnels/hidden.

Also, I have several (correctly peaked) undec'd hoppers I want to get built and ready for painting. Plan on doing them in the old N&W scheme for my brother since he has a N&W and Southern layout in his basement.

Continue with the track work. Now that I have an L bracket and the bridge built I can now work on the sub road bed for the main lead to the staging yard. I won’t get much done next week so this is the weekend of getting busy and getting done. Hope to have track laid by Tuesday.

Hello Dave. I sure hope so. With the new Mk.IV modules slated to be done in January, the new track work based on my new information will start. My goal is to have my new three modules done in time for the Lincoln Square show in March. Also, now that I have a vehicle that that doesn't require a second mortgage to fuel up, I hope to make more of your op sessions.
