Good morning, good afternoon, wherever you may be. We are at the gateway to the weekend and I hope you are ready to share what is on your Model Railroad list to accomplish. Let's get started.

Saturday: Part two of "Operation NTrak Revival" My buddy Steve and a mutual friend will be here tomorrow morning as we finish up the last club corner module and the 16' yard. To date, three of the four corner modules are running well, we just need to finish the third by adding the last inside or blue line track and test. The yard is in good shape and was running at a show about three years ago so hopefully we should not have much to do. Later that evening, Steve and I must re-pay the wives with a nice German meal. Should be a good day.

Sunday: Rain in the forecast, so nothing outside. I still need to change out the chain oil and plugs on the bike, so that might happen. I have three Tam Valley Frog Juicers I need to install on the HO layout. I'm going to build a Styrene box for them as they will be exposed under the layout. I think Styrene work is a good project for a rainy day. Think I'll brew up some Earl Grey, fire up the podcast and enjoy some quiet time at the work bench.

So how about you? What do you have planned? Let us know. We'll assemble on Monday the 12th to see how we have all done. Until then, have a great weekend, be safe, stay healthy and as always...

The weekend depends on the weather. I have some outside work that needs to be done. There is the swing that needs to be moved from the garage to the gazebo. I have the fountain to place in the front yard garden. Then there is the never-ending job of trimming the tree branches back off the house.

On the Engine House I would like to give the capstones, keystones, and bric-a-brac a second coat of a paint, then seal the walls, weather them, and seal again. If time permits start assembling the walls.

On the layout I would like to continue laying out the yard for the engine facilities. Unfortunately, the work is at a virtual stand still due to some late arriving switches. The switches have been traveling from Oklahoma City to Philadelphia since April 2nd. They were originally supposed to be here Tuesday. I may need to look for someplace else to get them. I went to a local hobby shop yesterday whose website said they have some to find they had none. Now I remember why I haven’t visited this shop in the last ten years. Nothing has changed including the un-customer friendliness of the staff. If the opportunity comes around maybe I will take a trip to Delaware to a shop down there.

Good morning all. During the week I made it to my local hobby shop and pick up supplies that will be used this weekend on a few projects. I hope to turn some styrene strip into decks for the pair of flat cars I have been working on and install some Woodland Scenics barbed wire fence along Palisade Ranch Road on the layout. There is plenty of yard work that needs doing so weather permitting I'll be doing that as well.

Hope you all enjoy the weekend whatever you are doing.

This weekend I have to finish with splitting up the money from the bowling league for our prize distribution this coming Tuesday, along with getting ready to bowl tonight in my other league. Also have to get ready to interview for a new association manager for the Cleveland USBC.

I hope to get some time to paint the Arrowhead Models H39 Hopper car and possibly decal it in my spare time along with finishing decaling a couple of other cars that I painted during the week. Also need to start building a couple of new cars to complete in the next few weeks along with getting some cars and locomotives to put on HO Train Exchange or E-Bay.

    See you all later!

    Friday greetings. This weekend
    1. Intend on finishing (weathering and dullcote) about 11 cars I have decaled the last couple of weeks. Including the 5 NW Hoppers for my brothers B'Day.
    2. Scenery at the layout. Don't know what, but some scenery. I have spent quite a bit of time the last 3 weekends at in the workshop and want to get back in the attic to the layout.

Here is the builders photo of the 5 NW hoppers I have built as a present. I used undecorated Bowser fishbelly, peak-end hoppers which matched pretty well.

I finally finished building all the structures for my N scale free-moN loop. I can now continue with the scenery. However finishing is a ways off since the dirt I ordered is awol. I will also continue with a 6’ module I started this past week. It will have a total of 5 tunnels on it. If all goes well by Sunday I should be ready to start painting and adding ground cover to that as well.

My only plan is -- to play it by ear. I will go up to my train room - and, work on what ever catches my eye.

    Report on Monday

    Y'all have a great weekend,

Got a chance to align the lathe and make progress on the Mikado boiler drawing during the week. So this weekend I hope to...

Friday: Find my hacksaw. Not sure if it is in storage or under something in the garage or shed. In any case, when I needed to cut metal rod this week the blades were here. The handle was not. If I can't find it there will be a new post in the "Latest Purchase" thread. The garage needs a light cleaning while searching for the hacksaw. My afternoon will be determined by the search result.

Saturday: Soccer match to watch with Sharon in the morning. The rest of the weekend is unscheduled with the following objectives:

Finalize the boiler design which means making some test cuts in scrap aluminum. Decisions need to be made on the width and thickness of the boiler bands. The taper of this boiler is much more subtle than the USRA version. In fact, it is hard to see in some photos. I can't find drawings with that level of detail. So I plan to turn a couple examples and decide which I like best. Also need to decide on an overall diameter. A compromise between prototype scaling and the reality of the not-quite-scale drive mechanism.

    Assemble two 4-foot T-track modules.

Improve access to my screwdrivers and knives on my workspace.

    Stay safe,

Tuesday I experienced a bout of "Spring Fever" due to cloudless sunshine. (We're so sorry Uncle Albert, we haven't done a bloody thing all day.) I am still working on the building diagram. Saturday is a trip to Coosa Valley Model Railroad train show in Gadsden, AL. Grandson is going with me. Weather promises to be dicey due to rain. All have fun and be safe. (y)

I should be receiving a kit tomorrow. A Maine 2 foot (HOn30) 0-4-4T Forney. Amazing how fast I can get things from Japan!

Either work on my two new 2 x 4 foot bases, or the Modern Gas Station kit from Walthers if I can get motivated. Plus a couple of other structures I might have knocked some parts off with my hand and need to be glued again. Here's hoping anyway! If I get going on the Walthers kit I should b able to get a lot done on it, IF? You know how that goes.
