Welcome back! Hope you had a good weekend and much was accomplished.

Saturday was spent getting ready for the company Christmas Party then going to said party. It’s nice to work for a company that thinks of their employees like this. Sunday, I was actually able to work on the City Job and get some trains running. The curve track that I damaged at Galesburg last summer came out and I went to replace it, only to realize that the piece I grabbed before leaving Illinois was the wrong radius. So until I find the correct radius, that section of track is closed.

How about you. What did you get done this past weekend? Let us know. We’ll be back on Friday the 14th to start the process all over again. Until then, have a great week, stay safe and as always...

    High Greens!

I was able to make a few more trees and the sign for my campground Friday evening. Sunday was my daughters 16th birthday so between all the celebrating I was able to cut some plywood and mesonite for the bridge area. Today I am making rock castings, attaching the wood previously cut, planning out hills and mountains. I do need to visit my LHS and get a replacement tunnel portal. On the plus side I just found a kit of three well cars I forgot I had. So now I need 6 more containers.

Saturday: We had our Granddaughter in the AM. Took her on a little bicycle ride - then pulled her up down our street in her wagon (She's 4). Then we went to a Christmas party. It was a great day!!

Sunday: Worked a bit on my next Arnold Rapido S-2. I filled in the pilot and she's painted black - ready for clear gloss then decals.
Most of the day was spent pulling out Christmas decorations from the attic --- fun .... NOT!!

Hope Y'all had a great weekend!!

A pile of rocks. This is only a small amount of what will actually be needed. [IMG]

Not a thing, although as expected I did manage a few home made gifts in the workshop.

More benchwork, and got some foam glued to it as well. Committed to a rudimentary plan for the lower level and started laying out the track to see what it will allow. Being so new I have to experiment a lot as my imagination is not tuned to the scale and spacing and overall 'impression' of N scale, so I imagine things that will not work, from track layout to building arrangements. Fun process, lot of work.

    Pictures!
All those areas above are glued down except the little 'nook' of missing foam, which might be a creek or something right on the front edge.

this next area is a work in progress of tuning the grade to allow smooth running. its the 'LA and points byond' sub level reverse loop.

The entire area I am working with.
I had no idea what I was getting into, its actually around 18 feet in length. With the sub level and the top already built its at around 30 feet 'long' but that doesn't count the curved grades to get to the straight sections, eventually with the grade and all its going to be like well over 40 feet of linear out and back layout, probably double that in track length with all the curves and loopbacks to gain height at 2.25%

So much work to do, had a nice little single shelf loop... wanted more, now I got more, a ton more work that's for sure LOL

Volunteering at our local model train museum, and have agreed to be responsible for upkeep and maintenance of all N-Scale power, rolling stock, and the layouts in general. That said, I had a dead locomotive, so asked for help. MK and Rick were sympathetic with this DC Dinosaur and suggested that the DC Option was disabled. Uh, OK, what's that mean? I have an Ecos Command Station I had bought for my trolley experiment, turns out it's a DCC command station that's compatible with everything...

They were kind enough to teach me how to: 1) turn to page 31 in the User Manual; 2) determine whose decoder was in the lokie; 3) tell me to set CV8 to zero; then 4) see what happened. WOW, the lokie took off like a scalded dog. Uh Oh, this DCC stuff is fun...and might get expensive.

What's worse, they say my current DC layout design is compatible with DCC.

Not sure my retirement can handle this, but.......
