Loco chassis - I plan schratchbuilding but not very accurate. I am still thinking about the technique... I plan to use T-gauge wheels (there is a photo on top of that page) Powering the train - T gauge motorized chassis inside the goods car or passanger car is in my opinion the best way to do it.
Some more progress for my Z-scale narrow gauge based on T track. I started to work on Shapeway available gondola. I plan to extend simple body by brakemen's cab using the cab of Marklins passanger car with some changes.
Some friends suggested that good idea is to have a motor-car. Originally build by Germans was esed on "my" railway after WWII. Ready for painting: Nice colours: ... but after some historical research I found them not prototypical. Repainted car:
Similar but not the same. Those motor cars were designed for "Zittauer Bahn" as DR 137. Four cars (dwo different designs) were produced. 3 of them were used in Poland on Wrocław-Trzebnica line after WWII. One i still on original railway more: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/DR_137_322_bis_325 I did some more small work on this model. While processing with the 3D print I lost one entry step so I had to make one. You can see it on the left on previous post photo. It looks better than original one because it is not so oversized in thickness. I decided to cut original steps: I replaced them and decided to make also upper step thinner just by painting trick. I think it is much better now.
Finally I got some T scale material to try to make my narrow gauge railway operational. I added motorized chassis to the motor car and tested it. I was surprised with realistic speed achivable ...
Very prototypical low speed. This gauge begins to be interresting for operators, and maybe for switching operations buffs in the future... Dom
Well done. It's difficult to tell this is such a small scale considering the amount of detail you have built in.
