As alway excellent work from Lester. I believe there is a gold band on the top of the tail and the donut emblem on the nose is actually gold and white as opposed to federal yellow. I didnt even know they had a small fleet of planes until maybe a year ago. Lester always raises the bar.

You are correct. I am using my license on that. There were also Gold bands around the wing tips.

I love that steam, sometimes I think I was born about 25 years to late.

Is that just a bad kitbash, or did that loco fall off and hit the floor upside down?...It looks kind of 'smashed' on the top??

It was either C&O Power of Patrick Dorin's (sp?) book about C&O Power (softback) had a picture or two of at least one F unit painted in this scheme. I never saw the A-unit but there were a couple of B-units, painted black with white lettering, that occasionally traveled back and forth on the B&O's Ohio River sub into and out of Huntington, WV. Those "B's" were 8501 and 8504, IIRC.

    Holy thread resurrection Batman!

Glad you did as in all my years lurking I never seen this thread!

Plenty of C&O power in our roster, plan to stretch the legs of a recently acquired Key H6 in a couple of weeks so will try get some pictures to post.

And you'll find a lot of recent photos of 1309, Baldwin's last US steam locomotive, on various threads. Of note, 1308 is still on display and in reasonably good condition in a park in Huntington, WV. Sure would be nice to get that one repaired and road-ready--imagine the crowds who would go a long way to see double-headed Mallet's in action!
