I like having scrap yards on my layouts so this is a photo of my new HO scrap yard with a old static display steam locomotive that I cut up and weathered.

Nice! That crane interests me. Manufacturer? Seems familiar, but no maker's name s coming into mind.

Scrap yards can be interesting for a layout. I had a small space and was wondering what to do with it and it became a scrap yard.

It is still a work in progress. I was a few panels short on the fencing and have a number of small details to the yard.

I love scrap yards also. Good job all' My yard is not done but I will post a pic as soon as get the camera out. I use a Walthers over head crane with magnet. and a tall crane also. Have to get fence and yard done. I been ballasting for the last week just to get some of that out of the way.

I got the crane in a box of Matchbox trucks. It was yellow with toy like stickers. I painted and weathered it , however the biggest chance was the tracks , they were completely out side of the crane , so I narrowed the mounting and tucked the tracks under to give it a older appearance.

I am modeling the Twin Cities in the mid to late 50s.

I'm building my layout and there's a space reserved for a scrap yard, at the end of a long curved spur. I'm going to have lots of fun getting that done.
