Hello All, My name is Mike. I am currently 50ish and have loved trains ever since I was a small kid. I grew up in the San Francisco bay area and therefore CalTrain has been my railroad of choice for a long time. I rode that train quite a lot as a teen, about the end of the SP era. The trains I rode were pulled mostly by the EMD SDP45 (Loved the hum that thing gave off when it took off from the platform) and half the time they pulled the old Hariman cars and the other half the gallery cars. I have been trying to put together an n-scale CalTrain setup. I have the Kato Loco and gallery car set, so pretty set on the more modern era. I really want a consist tho from when I was riding CalTrain. I have the SDP45, but unfortunately with the newer SP lettering rather than the original, and I am using SP Pullman cars, which are close but not quite right. Close enough for government work I guess, but I would really like to get a more accurate consist. I have also been working on a scenario file for Train Dispatcher for the CalTrain line as well as adding some scenarios to the recently released "Corridor Commute" route for Train Simulator. So, yeah, Major CalTrain fan here! Even tho I now live in Nevada, CalTrain is still my favorite railroad. I am happy to meet you all!
Welcome aboard, Mike. Pahrump has certainly grown since days back in the 1960's when we used it as a waypoint in aviation navigation. Railroads have sure changed as well. I hope you can achieve your objective, and help will surely be available from members here.
