    Good day to everyone,

My name is Yannis, new member here from Greece. I am glad to have become a member to this community and i am looking forward to learn and contribute from/to the community. I am modeling the Santa Fe (HO scale) in the mid to late 1960s on the Surfline and in particular from San Diego up to Del-Mar (someday on my next layout i ll manage to cover these areas, current layout is a much smaller version on the same theme). In addition to model railroads my other main interest is scale model aircraft in 1/48 scale focusing mainly on US subjects, emphasis on WWII in the Pacific theater and the Vietnam era.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
    Glad to be here,
    Yannis

Hi Yannis, Welcome. We are glad to have you on board. You have selected a lovely scenic route to model. Please share photos of your layout when you have the chance.

Hi, Yannis. We are happy you have joined our family of model railroaders, and look forward to your participation.
As Hytec stated above, you have chosen a beautiful and interesting part of the old SP line to model. Yes! Please share photos as you go along. :)

Say what? The Southern Pacific wished it owned the Surfline!

Watch those fingers, pilgrim. They're liable to get a man a whole peck of trouble...

Thank you all for the warm welcome! Much appreciated. I will most certainly post some photos of my layout in a corresponding thread, although it is in early stages of construction and it is more of a training / temporary layout before the "big layout" in a permanent house.

It's certainly great to have you with us. You are, to my recollection, one of the first from your region to join us, and that's good (for us at least). I'll also add I share some of your interests although I stay within 1/72.

Eagle2 thank you very much for the welcome! Good to know that you are into 1/72, one of my best friend's scale, so i am familiar with many of the kits in this scale.

By the way, i did post the layout as discussed in the HO scale forum.

Welcome aboard, Yannis. As a retired aircraft guy, I would be interested in your scale aircraft collection as well as your railroad hobby.

Fitz and Jeff thanks for the welcome!

Fitz, happy to hear from an aircraft guy, and i appreciate your interest in my scale aircraft. I wonder if i could post one here without being out of topic / out of line.

Yannis, you can post non-railroad topics in the Cattle Car Forum. For instance, one member (r_i_straw) posted photos from his and his wife's cruise throughout the Aegean Sea and Greek Isles.
