For sure, I am addressing you sir, along with the other participants.
I will post a picture of my xuron cut in fills once I have figured out photo loading. Not sure I can do that from Tapatalk.

Oh, I have mastered the tricky iWorld of iPhone Fu and hopefully below is a photo showing my interpretation of the thread!
in both these instances, Ive actually used two rail joiners and cut them down slightly in size, in order to make a new thing of the correct length. The additional length became necessary as i had adjusted slightly the alignment of a faraway set of points and that in turn had pulled the flex track out of alignment. Its Peco code 55 flex track.

Donald (Don't know how its sideways when the original is not, but it makes the point. I see the evidence of ruthless filing is there also in cruel closeup!)

Thank you for posting this nifty little tip--or nip--whatever works for you! I am unhappy to say that I, too, have done such a thing as cutting a rail too short. I´m always in the mood for a few good tips to make things go more smoothly.

Not that I want to poo-pooh this idea. I don't.

I've used this method time and again only to have the piece of rail eventually turn and fall out. I've even tried gluing, soldering and other ideas to make this work. Finally, out of desperation I will grab a new piece of track and install it.

Just thinking you might want to know.

I kind of take the view that all railroads experience heavy maintenance of an occasion. Meantime, them wagons gotta roll!
