CN 1501 is eastbound by Malcom, IA as it inspects the Iowa Interstate mainline from Council Bluffs to its first day stop at South Amana, IA. It would continue the next day to Silvis then on to the Peoria Sub where it tied down at Henry, IL and eventually made its way to Peoria on Sunday.

    11/18/16.

I had no idea they still had any of these in any type of active service.

Fascinating history to that unit. It was built for CN in September 1958 as RDC-1 #D108. It was renumbered 6108, then it went to VIA, same number. Eventually, CN reacquired it and numbered it 15016. It's now a self-propelled track geometry car. And getting close to 60 years of age.

    Budd really built them good!

Like Ken, I'm surprised to see that out on the line. Nice catch, Buddy.

Thanks for the photo - I hadn't even known these were a thing for CN.
