It has been almost 2 weeks since I have been able to video or get pics of a train or rail related thing! Then yesterday, I was heading to my buddies at Terry, and voila! Here comes some trains, and I even have the time! First is an M train coming in westbound off the Milwaukee branch from Aberdeen, SD Then, after the M stopped, this westbound coal empty blasted by! To say it was a pleasant delay would be a lot of understatement!
I went out east of town early Sunday and on my way back into town, saw this column of thick black smoke. Thought someone was burning tires or some such thing. But, it was a train! Stop quick and get this unit just blowing smoke. I suppose it lost an injector or two, or the puter is being bad or some such thing. I only wished I had time to turn around and follow this guy east for a while to see if it would blow or fire up.
That MRL geep looks great and that second pic of the hopper begs the question of how many people does it take to spot a car.
Sooo, it has been a few weeks since I have posted anything here, or anywhere. But, on Friday I saw this set on the east end. And the sunny side, And this is a most interesting GE,
Saw this set sitting on the main yesterday, not sure why, nothing on the radio or newspaper about it. Possibly for employees and service members only? All shiny locos tho!
Yesterday I got to see this coal load pull SLOW out of the 1 Track on it's way east. Was a beautiful morning, clear and calm.
I believe he was waiting for the switch to be lined by dispatch. Didn't see any other trains, and a couple of minutes after I went about my day, I heard the turbos spool up and the train pulling.
Yesterday morning I got to watch a couple of early trains from above. The rising sun was at my back, which makes the orange paint on the locos be really bright! And a lost NS!
