Hi Today I install a Sound decoder in my new Budd (TRE). He will have fun on the US Convention in october I use an Digitrax Decoder for an N-Kato GP38,SDN144A0 http://www.digitrax.com/products/sound-decoders/sdn144a0/ My Dealer change the sound from GP38 to RDC Budd http://www.digitrax.com/sound-depot/rdc-diesel-scheme/ Also I bring some lead in. And here is a Video:
I was discussing your upgrade at the train shop last week. We were wondering if there was a specific reason for choosing the sound decoder you did? Mark
Hi Mark the only reason was at first the dimensions of the decoder. And I dont want buy the programmer for 90 € for only one sound project. My first Idea was to use the Döhler and Haas decoder, but it was impossible to programm the Budd sound to the D&H. To use an universal Digitrax decoder (the price was the same) I need the extra programmer. Next time I ask my dealer to bring the special sound to an universal Digitrax decoder
Doubtful. Actually, I had sort of an epiphany and I'm leaning more and more toward skipping sound in Z. I've recently been thinking seriously about doing HO at some point and figure I'll get my sound fix then. This will be a few years, likely 8-10 when we move out of this house. So I'm still in Z for the foreseeable future....and maybe all of it.
