I am using a Digitrax system. I have a reversing loop on one end of a main line and a reversing loop/wye on the other end. There are times when I would like for my train to run continuously on this main line without me having to throw the switches manually. Does anyone make a reliable device that will control my reversing loop and switch automatically, or is there a way to make the reversing modules perform this task? Thanks.

The PSX AR modules can do this. Which reversing modules are you doing using?

I use Digitrax DS64 to control switches and DBL 168 for sensors and JMRI's Logix to automate the turnouts. It requires a sensor before the turnout at each loop exit so Logix will throw in the correct direction.

I am using the MRC520 reversing module. How would it be wired with the PSX AR?

A non-DCC-driven alternative would be an Azatrax D2T, about $40. If your switch machine has aux DPDT contacts then you could also use those to power the loop, allowing you to re-use the reversing module elsewhere.

The most simple option is to use a spring loaded switch that will allow the locos to cross even when the switch is thrown the wrong way. I don’t have a part number handy but I will try to find one for you.
