Pretty good. Donald Duck and Chip and Dale. Did you understand one word they said? It really ought to have subtitles.
I love this one, I've been meaning to show it to my boys, but I'd lost the link, so now I have it again. I believe this one was a bit of fun at Walt and Ward Kimball's expense as well.
That was cute, thanks for posting it. Took me a little time to catch on to their voices, but I understood most of what all three said. I'll admit I saw this when it first was released in 1951, probably in the Grand Central Terminal movie theater. GCT theater ran nothing but shorts, cartoons, and newsreels so folks could drop in while waiting for trains. No film was more than 5-10 minutes long so very convenient back when railroads catered to travelers.
So, it is pretty obvious that somebody involved in this production was a model railroader. Was Walt Disney? Seems I remember reading he was. Doug
You are right Doug. The Disney brothers had a live steam outdoor layout called the Carolwood Pacific. This video really reminded me of that fact. Here is a link to Wikipedia's page on the layout. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carolwood_Pacific_Railroad.
As I alluded to, Walt was a live steamer (Just him, Roy wasn't involved) it was Animator Ward Kimball that got him into the hobby which is why up above I said the short was a knock on Walt and Ward. Disneyland in fact started out as an expansion of the Carolwood Pacific. Sent from my SM-T377V using Tapatalk
I can usually understand most of what Donald says. I don't believe we are supposed to follow Chip & Dale verbally. Only a few words, now and then. It's more the way they sound and their actions.
That was enjoyable. As I recall from my youth the audience was suppose to interpret what they say. That was part of the fun.
