    (I may have posted this before)
    While sorting through my father's estate it became obvious to me that 90 percent of the family pictures dating well back into the last century had been destroyed by sitting under water for a long period of time. This was one of them. However, I was able to put it back together.

    Good that you were able to reconstruct this picture.
    Family mementos are precious.
    That looks like some pretty heavy rail they were already using at that date.

    My maternal grandfather, who died before I was born from tuberculosis as a result of being exposed to mustard gas in WWI, was also a track worker. He eventually became a foreman and was well-paid.

    Thanks for the great photo. I agree that that looks like fairly heavy rail.

    Nice to have a memento of your grandfather at work, Roger. Tough work those track gangs accomplished.
