    My thoughts go out to all who will be either on duty. or in some hellhole in a far away place this year, and away from loved ones and family, and wishing them all a safe and peaceful Christmas eve and day. Having spent a number of years past in those situations I am finally able to spend Christmas quietly at home with loved ones. Means a lot to me. Having done the shopping several months ago and even having all the Christmas dinner in the freezer or pantry. No crowds, traffic, or annoying checkout lines. The smells of fresh made fudge and cookies coming from the kitchen, soft Christmas music playing in the background, a plethora of felines under the tree trying to find the package with the nip, and excited grand kids calling to thank the old grandparents for whatever, or all excited about what Santa left for them. The only thing left is a light dusting of snow to hope for. Merry Christmas to all.

    We got the best Christmas present ever right after Thanksgiving. Transplant center called and said they had a kidney for my wife. She is still in the hospital due to non surgical infection issues but the kidney is functional. Her blood work numbers haven't been this good in twelve years.
