I put together a package for the hosting committee to check out the Hyatt in downtown Jacksonville, FL. The St. Mary's Railway has excursions nearby (about 40 minute trip). CSX headquarters is here, along with lots of railway watching. Disney is two hours away, the beach is 15 minutes away. The hosting committee should already know this though.
I will be there. Already have Hotel Reservations. Arriving Sunday. First stop Jack's Stack BBQ in Milwaukee Freight House behind Union Station. Rich
Nice! I'll be getting there Tuesday. Very excited about this. I'm stay at the Homewood Inn and Suites because I'm a Hilton guy.
It'll be my first as well. I'll be coming up with the TulsaNEONS with the club's Ntrak setup along with OK-N-Rail too.
Rodsup9000 is too busy sprucing up his huge layout for all to check out. I sure wish I could go. I would, but I have an old Golden Retriever that requires a lot of nursing along. Maybe next year, but actually I hope that my old buddy Arnie will still be around to need me. After all of the years with him, he's my best buddy. I hope You all have a great time. Midwest food is hard to beat. About all there is to do is eat, grow corn, play sports, and cards. If the food isn't great they just don't stick around long. Besides Barbecue, check with the locals about the best pizza. The breadbasket has some of the best pizza anywhere.
I believe the convention in Pittsburgh will be June 27 through July 2. Edit: Correction. June 21 to June 25, 2017.
OK, thanks for correcting that. I combed through all my stuff from the convention and could not find that flyer anywhere. There is nothing on the web site yet either.
That's about 45 minutes from home. It might also interfere with an annual family get together in New York. Don't know yet.
Since I model primarily Conrail/PRR steam, I'm excited about this convention next year. I predict that I will buy Intermountain's new N scale SD40-2 in DCC and sound.
