Just some of the new stuffs I got and some old stuff too. The layout is in pieces right now so the coffee table will have to do.

The color isn't to bad and the hight isn't that far off. The gas tank is another story. The old Altas paint however is way off.

That Geep is probity my one and only MTH loco purchase. It is definitely a problem child and they messed up SP grey. How do you mess up SP Grey? I can live with almost right SP&S Green and Yellow, but SP grey is a pretty common HO color. So far the MTH seems to only like running by itself and doesn't play well with my Athearn Geeps. I haven't tested the Intermountain guy yet so we'll see how it does later. I figured I'd give both of these makers a test run since I hadn't bought any of their locos yet.

I should add that the Bachmann Chinese guys are super light but look fantastic. The weight isn't really an issue since the QJ's and JS's are relatively light locos to begin with.

I like your style. I do the same sort of thing. I just buy what has pretty colors or is interesting for whatever reason.

    Love the chinese locos.

If you are still looking for British coaches you really should check out Ebay. Importing new stuff can get pricey. A lot of Americans have already done it for you and you can find near new coaches in original boxes fairly cheap.

But if you must do british and must have new items try hattons. http://www.hattons.co.uk/

Thanks! I mostly stick to Southern Pacific and SP&S (and related RR's) but I'll get something if it peaks my interest. I've got some Amtrak stock and the Cascades Talgo consist. I've got the Empire builder and some GN stock, but they were a parent company of SP&S. I got the Chinese guys and a few other things here and there because well, if you've never seen one before, that's the time to get it. I've got a few Qinghai-Tibet Passenger Cars and the NJ2 locos (a hooded GE Dash 9) for them are on the way. The NJ2's are special in that they had to be modified to run at high elevation.

I'm still alive. Most of my free time has been taken up by the building of a sub so I've been sort of neglecting my RR. I'm also still waiting on preorders (CORP locos, Rapido steam generator, Portland and Western locos, etc).

Building a sub? Such as an R/C model? I've seen a couple which were really something interesting.

Yeah, I'm over on the Sub Committee forum. Right now I'm in the middle of a 1/96 Oscar and a 1/144 Kilo. Someday they might even function.

    ah. Rusty Russky boats.
I know a bit about Foxtrots and Julietts. To think we used to worry about the capabilities of Soviets subs.
The story goes, a US SSN departing Norfolk...reaches the 100 fathom curve, dives, first sonar sweep:
"Conn, Sonar, Soviet Foxtrot, bearing zero-niner-zero, just exiting the straights of Gibraltar."
Of course, with three six cylinder Kolomna diseasemals direct drive to a six bladed prop on each shaft...they made a distinctive acoustic signature.
Fresh water pressure.....oh, fire suppression...two stations, one FTR, one what we would call Maneuvering, each with two charged tanks of....FREON. Could put the fire out...and kill everybody left in the compartment.
FB and AB (Forward Battery and After Battery), two lower decks of wet cells, something like 1400 pounds each...and everything above that was wood.
Geez, we had wood GRAIN on stainless on our boats, but WOOD?
Food storage, Ops Compartment, below the helm under the main deck..all wood.
    Chill box....wood.
You get a fire and you're...literally...toast.
Hydraulic ram through cables and pulleys to raise and lower scopes.
Leningrad Fire Control....my stove and over are bigger.
No hydraulic torpedo rams. Block and tackle.
Pyrotechnic storage.....lid screwed tight....with a MSW line and one valve over the the centreline main seawater hull valve for putting out any fires. Right.
Saltwater shower in the sail...on the surface, they'd charge the fire pumps for topside use, you could take all the 30 degree F saltwater showers you wanted.
Aft of the, port side, a craXXer and whiXXer, dropped right down on the top of the pressure hull and fell through the long slot between sail and hull.
ONE head in Control, ONE head in Maneuvering, fresh water shower in Maneuvering..you were allowed one 20-second fresh water shower per week....so you got your salt water shower, went down and rinsed off with fresh...IF there was any water that wasn't being used for battery water or cooking.
The galley..aft port of AB...the bathroom in my house is bigger than the entire galley.
NO mess decks. Period. You got your food and found a place to sit and eat..bunks, top of equipment....
I've traced systems on both Foxtrots and Juliettes, put some systems back on-line, and I'd never go to sea in either one, thankyouverymuch.
