A couple of photos to follow up the one I posted on Weekend Proto forum. My granddaughter Taylor, who will graduate from UCSB with two degrees in June, and has a keen interest in photography, is visiting us. Among the venues I took her to for photographic experience, was the Oregon Coast Scenic Railway. She had never ridden a train before, much less one powered by steam, and was fascinated, as we all are, with the steam locomotive. We had already been to the Tillamook Cheese and Ice Cream factory and would later visit Munson Falls and the Air Museum, busy day.
It was interesting to see the ex McCloud River 25 without her characteristic white tires. I actually think she looks better without them.

Most of the time I prefer no white tires. To me that gets into being a bit toy-like. Plus, they show dirt and grease so easily. I do see some rust around the cylinders, so she needs a bit of TLC. They do have a roof over their equipment?

There is a roof when they are not running. Dom, McCloud #18 is operating on the V&T. It's a 2-8-2 whereas 25 is a 2-6-2.

Thanks for posting these photos fitz. I wondered how she was going. There was something with the McCloud engines that looked 'classy'.
