Hello I've a bunch of BLMA Trinity 64' Reefer from UP/ARMN and CEFX. I would like to know, if UP mixes cars of this two owners togehter in one train? I couldn't find prototype pictures who prove this. Thanks Christian
Unless those cars are in an assigned use, they can go anywhere, at any time. If free roaming, they certainly could be in the same train.
According to this(6th post down) a guy in NE has seen CEFX reefers on UP trains. He does say that the ARMN reefers are more commonly seen since there are more of them. Hope this helps! JMS http://cs.trains.com/mrr/f/13/t/215573.aspx
Thanks, that helps. But is it possible too, that reefers of both owners are mixed together in one car group?
I would say, "rare, but not impossible". I have seen CEFX reefers adjacent to the older 60ft ARMN converted reefers.
I wouldn't see why not. The only thing would be if a customer leased the cars themselves. Then, one would probably not see the cars mixed up. However, here on the East Coast(US) the Tropicana Juice train on CSX is usually all TPIX(Tropicana) report markings. However, I have seen a couple CEFX(Plain White) reefers and some CSXT(CSX logo on side) reefers mixed into the train. Could have been extra cars or back up cars for "bad ordered" cars. JMS
