I recognized a life size version of my MKT wide vision caboose in the latest episode of American Pickers. Frank and Mike just mentioned it briefly as a crane was lowering it onto it's trucks. I will post a photo of my model and the real original caboose the boys found while looking for cycles and automotive treasures on their show soon.
Those guys have been skunked a time or two on trains. Not quite their specialty. What was happening with the caboose you saw? Display? Private adaptation?
It was on large hoarder type property in Kansas. A few minutes after the start of the show they arrived at this guy's property There was a piece of track just long enough for the caboose and the trucks were already on the track as a crane finished lowering the caboose onto the trucks. They didn't ask if it was for sale. It was the first time I saw a real one, but my Rapido model is a really good representation of the real thing. I will try to get photos posted tomorrow.
