I have also been here right from the beginning, and was an administrator for quite a while, before taking a break for various reasons. Charlie insisted I stay on as a staff member, so here I still am. Like Paul, I have resurrected my interest especially as I am in the process of building a new layout after moving from England to Slovenia. It is good to be back here seeing many old names and a large number of new ones. Charlie's mentioning of members who have left us reminds me of several who were an inspiration, especially Wayne who was amazing. Also Paul Templar who I met personally a few times and visited his home and one of his amazing layouts, he was a lovely man. Whatever or whoever comes and goes, TB goes onwards! Happy Birthday Trainboard!
Happy Birthday, Trainboard! I happened on to Trainboard within weeks after it was "born", can't believe it has been 13 years. Most internet creations don't last 13 years, but this great place has, which is a testament to the people here and the good folks who work behind the scenes to make Trainboard possible. Thank You!
By the way Charlie, in the beginning there was Scott and yourself. I think I remember Scott leaving the site for you to run. Is Scott still in touch? Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
Happy Birthday! But, I hope that now that Trainboard is a teenager, it won't turn its interest to girls and cars as happens with so many young model railroaders.
Wow! 13 years, I had no idea I had been a member for this long, I have had my share of absences over the years for various personal reasons but if I think of train forums this place is the only one that comes to mind. Many thanks Charlie for keeping this place at the forefront of train forums.
Happy Birthday, teenager. NOW GIT OFF MY LAWN! Seriously, Congrats to TB and everyone who made it happen. If it weren't for this board, I probably wouldn't have gotten back into the hobby!
It's been a wild ride for me since I first joined back in March 2000. A major privilege & honor to meet some of you in person, and many others here online. The detractors, trolls, and flaming dung heaps we've dealt with aren't even distant specks in our rearview mirror, and ahead of us are high greens & clear track. While other websites who claimed to be the latest & greatest have sprung up and withered away to nothing, Trainboard.com has managed to flourish and stay strong. Those members who have passed on will be there to greet us when we arrive on that westbound train. Highball' y'all!!!!
kind of ironic to say the least, but I had actually NEVER been interested in trains (real or miniature) until a friend got me into them. Now to say the least, im hooked............now if i can actually get them on benchwork I would be happy (been liking them for 17 years, but have only had 1 set up, but was torn down due to a move)
Though I've only been on TB since 2003... The past 10 of 13 years have been great! I wish TB a happy 13th birthday and with that goes my deepest appreciation to the founders, administrators and staff which help to keep this site going. Without your dedication and drive to improve the site... we would not have such a great place to share and learn. THANK-YOU!!!! :teeth:
Hey guys! It sure has been a long time since I've signed on! HS is crazy sometimes... In any case, Happy Birthday to TrainBoard, and I hope all of you are well!
