    Hi Nick,

Like a lot of other modelers, I have a modeling season and, unfortunately, it is not right now. Believe me, I am still scheming about it regardless if I step in that room or not. I still do lurk on the boards here and read others posts almost everyday. I have been camping and traveling a lot lately so that's why the layout gets neglected...

Since my last update, I've completed the LED lighting for the first level and I'm mostly pleased with it. I spent about 50 bucks for the LED strips (2 cool white and 2 warm white) and two transformers off that auction site. Mixed the warm and white and seems to be good. Very low power usage, virtually no heat, and more than bright enough.

I started doing some rough terrain cutting in the Feather River Canyon section and installed a few bridges, but it is such a mess right now. Installed a few sidings - Sloat, Quincy, and a few others. My train room is acting as the catch all right now for this and needs a tidying up before I can even take a worthwhile picture, lol.

As you can see in the picture, I've started on the lower level though it has sat that way for almost three months now. I wasn't 100% happy with the lower level trackplan so I held off on doing that till I got it straightened out in Xtrkcad. I'm 95% happy with it and that's probably as close as I'm going to get.

About the most active thing I have done, over the last few months, is acquiring some more era correct rolling stock and locomotives. I have been selling off the 'too modern' stuff though I'm keeping one intermodal train because I can. Thinking of maybe bashing some more GP-20 high hoods though those were a pain.

I'm sure I'll do major work on it once the weather goes south. I still have a large lot of landscape projects to do before I get to go back in there. Until then...

    Dustin
