Is there any issues with running a Cab Forward on code 55?

Spookshow is saying that the drivers are fine but that the other wheels have problems. He goes on to recommend replacements here.

Works fine on ME code 55, don't know about Atlas. All code 55 isn't the same.

When I was running mine on the FreeMo-N setup, ran fine through most of the modules, but the pilots were hitting the nail heads on one section.

I think it's just the Atlas 55 where you get the wheels rumbling on the spikeheads.

I run my Cab Forward on Code 55 track - no problem on Micro Engineering or Pico but you will have a problem on Atlas Code 55. Need to change all the wheels sets (except drivers) to low profile wheels.

Is the Micro Engineering track Bridge track? Just asking as I am thinking of using some.

ME makes two kind of track, "normal" track, like you would see on ground, over the mountains and through the woods, etc, and bridge track. Bridge track is specifically used on ONE and only one type of bridges, and I've seen layouts pictured in magazines with it on the wrong kind. As regards track, there are tow kinds of bridges: Unballasted deck and ballasted deck. In the first type, the track and ites are affixed in some way to the bridge structure. In the other type, the deck of the bridge is solid, and the track floats on ballast just like track on the ground. Bridge track has ties nearly in contact with each other, unlike the spaced ties on regular track.

Thanks everybody else for the replies.

Rick do you remember which modules you had issues on? Well I guess I'll bring it with me and see what happens.

Yep - was the "Texas" module (can't remember the town name); and, of course, the older turnaround, but that was because of the dip, not clacking on the nail heads.
