Well, first time weathering in Z scale wasnt so bad afterall. Here's the result of the base coat airbrush weathering with Poly Scale paints. I'm still going to go back in with a small brush and drybrush the tiny detail in (rust streaks and paint chips). I kept it light on the locomotives - I'm not sure if I'm going to add detail kits to them yet, and I didnt want to risk messing anything up if I do.
Looks good Brandon. The one thing I say about weathering is dont be afraid to mess up. It is mess up. Only a clean model is not mess up.
Awesome work! Myself I'm considering using my airbrush for my future weathering works (since I had read a topic on it in a recent Model Railroader issue). Please could you describe us the settings you're using with your airbrush (including distance between airbrush's nozzle and models)? Dom
Looks good Montana! I am partial to weathered cars too. Jeff Merrill is getting me some Intermountain Cylindricals at the Z Convention, and the first thing I plan on doing is weathering them!
