I have had the old Minitrix set of this beautiful lady since I was small. It's quite a thing to see her so alive and well again!

And of course, you can't miss her restoration.

Could you post a view of your train set?

Great videos! I love watching steam at track speed, and 70000 sure ripped through those. :tb-biggrin:

Man I'm sorry I missed the replies here for SO long! Here are a few quick shots of the set I have:

Britannia1.png The whole set, from circa late 80s IIRC??
Britannia2.png Look at those pie cutters! :) But the rest of the detail is excellent.
    Britannia3.png Well dressed tender.
    Britannia4.png The cab area.
Britannia5.png And a couple of the coaches.

Nice! I can see why you like both the model and prototype.

Another maker now issues the BRITANNIA. My local model shop owner was discussing with several customers while I was in there yesterday how 'pretty' they are, but they don't pull like the Minitrix one did!

    Pete,

Would that be the one by Dapol?

Awsome shots of steam at speed and thru the station to boot .... Plus the fireman to be commended for having her " on the burn " and free of black smoke !!!! a great feat ... just AWSOME !! Thanks for sharing both those vid's.

She really is a stunningly beautiful ol girl isn't she? :) I'm so happy they've taken the time to restore her so well. The loco pulls the five coaches well enough, but it can struggle on some grades and narrow radius turns of course. I'd love to find a way to replace all the wheels/drivers with much more prototypical versions - to say nothing of the fact that it won't run at all on code 55 - but I don't think that's realistically possible.

    Is it???

Found this one today - looks like it was shot about a month ago or so?

I don't care WHO you are - there isn't a diesel ever made that could make the short hairs stand up like the raw power of steam in a girl like this! :)

Yes. Their TORNADO doesn't pull either!
