    Hi all,

I'm going to have a layout that will be approximately 4'x6' or 4'x8'. Looking at the packaging of the ReadyGrass Landscape Kit (RG5152) it indicates it will enhance a 4x8' area. Does this mean there is enough material included to cover a bare wood platform or should the platform be painted or some type of landscape map put down first? Then, this kit would be used to add some elements to that?

Any information from someone familiar with this kit would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!!

I am not familiar with this kit. But ANY layout would be better if first painted some earthy color. Maybe some splotchy uneven green color but not Dayglow Emerald. It would probably be better NOT to attempt to "completely" cover your train table, and roads and ballasted area should probably be done first.
    Just my druthers.

The ReadyGrass Landscape kit is made to be used on top of the ReadyGrass vinyl mat. So you would want to cover your wood platform with either the vinyl mat or paint the wood surface with some tan latex paint and then while the paint is still wet cover the area with some green turf that comes in a shaker. Then spray on top of the green turf with some Woodland Scenics scenic cement to keep the turf from coming loose.

    Best regards,
    Brian

Get the Woodland Scenics book "The Scenery Manual" and go from there. This product is basically a more expensive way to create the same scenery. Jim
