Here's some more that I've done in the past: Lots more in my Trainboard gallery and on my website linked below in my signature. Wish I had my stuff with me as I definitely have the time... Brian
No, this may be some time back whom Ken is referring. There was a note in MR some years back of a well known modeller/custom painter who succumbed to lung disease brought on by inhalation of solvents of the years. A respirator with the appropriate filters (dust and fume rated) is a must.
Here's a few shots of ones I have done up. Many others I just don't keep too many pics of what I do unfortunately. Jeff
Yes, I will pile on Jeff too! JDG did quite a nice job on several locomotives for me too! Kendall Johnen is another great painter Scott Holwick rounds out my list of go to guys for custom painting
Brian, I spent two lunch periods (1+ hours) looking through your website. You have done some really nice stuff. I second the "custom painted locomotive" thread.
dahh ok, since the beans have spilled...jeff was the one who did my stuff too. great man, price cant be beat.
It's been a while, used to be a busy part time job. Custom run I did for a Rockford IL hobby shop. Rock Island GP38's I did for a friend. Maine Central Geep for my layout. And my pride and joy, CB&Q GP30 #974. I have more if anyone is interested in my album under JTW custom paint. Once I get moved, I have an Iowa Interstate GP38-2 I need to finish. I love these threads and seeing everyones work, more pictures everyone!
I've got a question for the custom painter crowd. Back when the "More Ebay Humor" thread first started, someone found a custom painted SD80MAC with Pepsi scheme. No, not the Amtrak "Pepsi" scheme, a Pepsi brand locomotive! Being a Pepsi drinker myself, and collector of all the MTL Pepsi series, does anyone know/remember who painted that Pepsi SD80MAC? Did anyone here win the auction?! I wish I had saved the listing photo. It was a great scheme design.
Just what are you looking to paint in NP? I may have the decals. I have only done a couple locomtives, mainly for myself and would be willing to expand my horizons. I have pictures of some of my work.
CW, I think I have a deal in the worx... but please, please show us your work! This thread could be much fuller and I love offbrand and custom schemes! The locos I am having painted are all in the NP black freight scheme.... Of course, I wouldn't be able to say no to some "fantasy" painted FT's in the butterknife scheme. Four portholes in that green band would look so sweet! *drool*
b-16707 - yea, I remember the Amt unit. You should post a pic. I'd like to see it with the decal work complete. Thanks. Jeff
HA! Look at those stripes! I wonder if the engineers ever got vertigo at the controls.... but they sure do look sharp, I'd say it was worth your pain & suffering brother!
Here are some pictures of a couple locomotives I have painted. I need to become a foamer and start shooting some of my own work.
Here are a couple more I have done: Kato SD40-2 Atlas SD60M Kato SD40-2 (painted camo, not decals). I am in process of doing another but this time airbrushing the camo so the edges are fuzzy (overspray). I also need to get a darker brown for the camo. Kato snoot nose SD40-2 (my favorite)
