Here is a classic example of the rolling museum of Chicago, Saint Paul & Pacific: I quickly ran up to the grade crossing to catch a departing shot as the BNSF rolled east towards New York. Of course I quickly left the grade crossing as the CSP freight blasted its airhorns and rumbled to life as it started to advance towards the crossing.
Sorry everyone for the delay....my home layout area is still under massive slow construction and what is worse...my club deciced to start a major remodel / redesign project of the club layout. I have been model raiload homeless since late March. The section used for the photos was recently refreshed in areas and recently had the plastic removed so it was accessable for photos. Here is what the club layout looks like right now:
Awesome photos Matt! I can't believe I completely missed this update. Is the canon car still on the move?
Yes the cannon car is on the move....it left the north country here in Minnesota some time ago.....in June.
Yeah. And in July I pegged the routing manager. In August, I got sidetracked woth a Commuter Train, and last I heard was that it's vanshed, and now I can't get ahold of the home road COO. Maybe Aliens took it? (Mike, that's your cue. Mike? Hello? Bueller?)
Its Vanished??!! :tb-biggrin: Now in a Rod Serling voice-over: There was a train car that was and is no more, or was there ever a car?!?!
I'm not too worried. Look at the N scale gon. It's been shrnk, visited giants, been to the past more times than a DeLorean, went thermo-nuclear, and it still has all of its wheels. Mine'll transmogrify someplace. And, if you'reright and there wasn't a car, then ya'll owe me for the hallcinogens yo stole.
Sometimes delays happen. Rarely does the CalZephyr make it the full journey from SF to Chicago (or vice versa) without at some kind of delay. As long as the cars haven't derailed completely, I share Morgan's optimism that we'll get underway again. Morgan, have you sent Mike a PM to get a status update?
Sure have, it was in July. Last I heard was he was going to a hobby shop for an accessory. And I just called him two days ago, for a voicemail machine. Everyone got some kidn fo delay, (snow, layouts under construction, etc.) so that' part of why I'm not concerned. I think I saw him on the Publisher's forum, so I'll try to rign him there as well.
Hey guys, I didn't run off with the train. It just took me a while to find soldiers to go with the car. I had taken the pictures earlier, but the camera erased all of the pictures. Between the hurricane and work, I got tied up. I'm shooting new pics this week.
RE: Thread losing pictures, proably people's hosting sites being cleaned of old photos. I'm in Chicago right now about to catch Amtrak, I've called numerous times and a postcard is in the mail, We shall see. I agree, its not looking good, maybe I need to fall back on a backup plan, I do have a GP38 sitting around...
If it's any comsolation, when the first Trainboard N scale car tour was being held, it was detained in British Columbia for quite a long time before the person who had it finally sent it along. I won't name names to protect the guilty (no, I was in Wyoming when it came my way). Such are the risks you take when a car is sent out on such a tour.
Yeah, I knew the possibilites. I do have one more number I can try, its "The Spouse"'s number. When I get on solid land, I may have to go all barrels blazing...
