After becoming a member of the Minnesota Transportation Museum today I got a behind the scenes tour of the Jackson St Roundhouse. I got to climb about on several locomotives. The most notable being GN 400. It was a great day! Greg
At the 2004 C&NW Historical Society Convention, in St Paul, we saw the GN 400 and got cab rides. Here is a picture of her on the turntable, and shuttling back and forth giving cab rides.
I like when the 400 gets pulled outside and you can get better pictures of it. I'd like to help work on the SDP40. That engine is gorgeous!
I was having such a good time I forgot to drag out the iPhone! So after the tour I wandered around a bit. GN 400 is a gorgous machine. Not a whole lot of room to fit a locomotive in the camera. I'm also taking brakeman classes to volunteer for MNTX. Greg
It's here It's Here! My Christmas gift has arrived! The Kato N scale GN 400 "Hustle Muscle" SD45 is beautiful. The paint lines are straight, tight and clean. Will be breaking her in this week, I need to build a test track. I'm glad I got it and will be bringing it with me to the Minnesota Transportation Museum to compare to the real thing. Cant wait to put some miles on it. Greg
Just know that the lettering on the one at MTM isn't in the correct place or the right color so it may not match your model. Jason
