UPS just delivered my N Scale Kato C&NW Dynamic Duo (GE C44-9W #s 8701 and 8646). They look awesome. I have test run them on DC and now have to order some decoders for DCC. These units have special meaning to me as they pulled a C&NW Historical Society excursion train for us from Des Moines, IA over the Kate Shelley Bridge in May, 2009.
Hi, any chance to see pictures of the Kato model? expecially from the front? How are the ditchlights? low or high mounted on the model? Thanks for your answer.
Here are links to two pictures I took of the Kato models. I'm sorry for the poor quality shots. I'm not used to close up work. I think you can see where the ditch lights are anyway. They are nice running locos, and the quality and detail is much better than my photos divulge. I have decoders in them both now (Super easy), and only wish Kato painted the end railings like Atlas does.
I didn't pre-order these, kinda wish I had. I've yet to see any at the LHS, but I'll be going to San Antonio this weekend and maybe I'll find a set there.
