Nice work! I'm always inspired by this topic every week. I'm getting closer to completing my pond and trestle. The stingers are set and the track has been placed (not yet fixed). More scenery details have yet to be added, but it's starting to come together:
Excellent work and images, Bruce! Did I hear Alco? The PAs don't look very big compared to a 450-foot freighter. Rule of thumb: one freighter of this size is about 100 freight cars of cargo.
A couple of shots of the small community of Sundown. The fire station is multi-purpose. The town council's meeting room is on the second floor. The meeting room doubles as the courtroom. The judges room is also the fire chief's office. The police dept is also on the second floor, wedged between the restroom and the broom closet.
Bruce, very nice! Are we going to see "buildup" on the poles - muscles, seaweed, and other sludgy stuff? - =
Wow, great pictures this week! Tad, that diesel detailing is looking great! Here is mine, a picture grab from the recent video I submitted for the modeling contest. -Mike
Alcos! I worked on getting appearance of depth in the trucks with washes and strategic applications of Grimy Black in the deep areas, after painting the truck silver. Here's a comparison, after (left) and before (right) on the Kato PA-1 A-1-A trucks: And the modified close-coupled version using Unimates (rear) vs. the stock too-far distance with the stock Kato couplers(front): ------- By the way, I will be in Brussels, Belgium, during May 3-7th, on a business trip. Anyone have suggestions for hobby shop, or railfanning? I figure if nothing else, I will go to the central train station, that should be good to see, and a good source of information. Thx and have a great week, all.
Great stuff in here! I especially love that bridge Bruce! I wanted to stop in and let everyone know that for this weekend's Modeling Photo Challenge we're accepting ALL photographs no matter when they were taken. Choose you're favorite shot and make an entry. We're going for record entries. What have you got to lose?
I got an Erie-Lackawanna covered hopper and a hot dog stand yesterday. Here they are after some weathering work. The antique Coke box is an addition from the junk box.
John, The Brussels South station (Brussel Zuid / Bruxelles Midi) is where the action is, with High Speed services to France and the UK. Brussels Central Station is an underground station in a tunnel. Not really much to see there in my opinion. But, have fun! Carl
MT on the left; FVM on the right. Nice boxcars. CNW covered hopper. Campbell Express (S&R Models) and Atlas modified flat car. Angelina and Nueces River awaits a load at Pace Foods.
