Tsunami in a Kato PA/PB?

    Yes, but is the sound specific to the Alcos? Back when they first came out with these decoders I asked MRC if there were model specific sounds installed. I was told in effect that "diesel-electrics are diesel-electrics" and that they all had the same generic sound package.

    I heard some MRC decoders in some F units at our club and I did not like the sound. I guess it could have been a volume issue causing the muddiness and distortion I was hearing, but it also could be that they have no baffle on the speaker.

    I am going to go ahead and use either the LokSound or Tsunami for my Alco PB dummy. I figure since I am only installing one sound decoder for a three or four loco lashup that I can afford to splurge a little on the sound.

    MRC just came out with this decoder. give them a call and ask them......

    The PA decoders have Alco 244 engine sounds. MRC seem to be getting over the days when they made decoders for P42's with SD40-2 and MP15 sounds.
