Some years ago (in the mid- '90s), I had that kit on my then-layout. To me it seemed to be more in the scale of HO, a little over sized. But it was a unique layout item.

Harold, it looks perfect for the scale of the buildings and rail cars. A power substation can be quite large for an industrial area such as you have in the picture. Go online to find pictures and you will see what I mean.

I have come to the conclusion I will have to scratch build and kit bash to get one for my layout. As an other poster said I may just do a substation under construction. Of course this will give me a reason to buy two depressed flatcars with transformers on them and some construction equipment and N scale workers.:we-laugh:

Ken, the box which contained this sub station said HO/N. I am familiar with the large sizes of some sub-stations. Compare the size of the fencing and the grain hauler.

    SD70MAC,
How much taller is the fence than an N scale person? A height of one inch is about correct for an N scale 6' high chain link fence.

Sorry about that. I meant 1/2 inch. So 14.9mm would be about correct for a N scale chain link fence. The N scale person I measured is 12mm.

Unfortunately I do not have that kit. That is why am going to have to scratch build my own. I started yesterday to down load photos of substations that others on the forums have built as well as other online sites.
