Since June 2006 I began planning and building my small portion of the SP Coast Line in central California. I'm now excited to announce I have completed all the trackwork and I can finally host some sessions focused on realistic operations.

See pictures and a couple of videos on my blog: Southern Pacific Coast Line in N scale

    Denny,

    That is nice.

I wish I had the room to stretch out my layout. Nice benchwork.

Excellent!! Always good to have more of California represented on the forum. Between you, Jerry w/ Bay Area, William Cowie w/ Cajon, me w/ Tehachapi we're getting alot of golden state mileage :)

Some really nice trackwork there Denny, and the video was done quite well also. I like the music in the first one better than the second video. Fit the train action much better. Can't wait to see your scenery progress. Keep up the great job

Lessee, should the next modues be Yuba Pass or Tunnel 6 and the Chinese wall?

BTW, I lived in SLO in the late 60's and used to watch trains coming down Cuesta from my living room. Maybe Denny will work that in (including Stenner viaduct and horseshoe curve) WHEN he expands tis layout.

    Nice work, Denny!

I've been following your progress on your site and I must say it is awesome! You inspired me to get started on my models but I've yet to decide on the locale I want to model. Any ideas guys? I'm modeling the Espee by the way. I know my avatar will fool you:tongue:

impressive work.. it's always an inspiration to see others' work.

My only critique is that I think you need more clamps :tb-tongue::tb-tongue:

    Looks great!

Are you going to model the Harlem tunnel?[IMG]
Or that enormous feed mill (or whatever it is) is King City? [IMG]

What about the sugar beet loaders in San Ardo and near Betabel road by San Juan Batista? Branch line to Santa Cruz and Davenport? Modelling the Boardwalk in Santa Cruz would certainly keep you busy for a long time.

I'm working on parts of the Sierra RR and am working on plans to include The SP and AT&SF to Stockton with the WP, CCT and ST&E in Stockton. That's to keep me busy in retirement. Whenever that is and if I live long enough.

    Hei hei! Brake on, guys!
Santa Cruz "was" on "my" plan! Unfortunately the real estate is not enough to model everything i love, so I stopped to San Jose and cancel all my hills from Los Gatos to Santa Cruz!

But I'm nearly sure that on my next retirement house I will have place to fit it. :)

Denny have done a "superb" job in the last few months !
We sure enjoy shortly some funny operation sessions on the Coast line!
And this remind me that I need find more time to put tracks on my benchwork.
Here we have plan to take one op.session per month on the friends personal layouts, so I need to do something!
Just for joking check this map where we put the locale of some friends.

It's an unfinished project, but give an idea.

Denny: my best compliment for now and I'm waiting the "vernisage" !
Clean the tracks: I've ready the champagne.
    Keep the good work.

As usual Denny, I'm enjoying watching your progress. Excellent work!

Although I miss the Austrian line you were building, your making North American railroading look really good!

    California Bound

Let's see we need a Nor-Cal guy. We have Subwayaz on line here who is scratch building the Modesto Station. Seems to me he would qualify. Further north? I'm sure we have someone who chimes in here.

Edited add on: Mione RR with his emphasis on the Sierra's. I missed his entry and found it on a read back. DStuard, sounds like he is working on Colfax. Jim 157 is working on parts of Donner pass as are others. Seems to me, we also have someone on line here who has paid a lot of attention to the Keddie Wye.

Mine? My layout is simply a hodge podge of several locations any resemblance between an actual location and what it appears to be... is strictly a coincidence. Grin!

Sounds like CA is shaping up nicely.

I was thinking about something like California-Oregon border... Well, like the Cascade Line. Where is the Cascade Line guy here? :)
