I just got my new Atlas Illinois Terminal geep road number 1502. It has black trucks and fuel tank? What the?!? Isn't it posta have silver trucks and fuel tank? Please educate me. Thanks!
My first thought was to check how the GP at IRM is painted. When I photographed it in 2005, IT 1605 had a silver fuel tank and silver truck sideframes. A quick check at the Illinois Traction Society site would tend to back that up too. Looks like someone misinterpreted weathered silver for black.
The ones on the Atlas website are definitely not black.....they appear to be grey. I'd contact Atlas and ask what the deal is. I see they have a grey fuel tank listed in parts, but no sideframes......new sideframes and tank would run less than $5, but since what you got wasn't what Atlas shows you're going to get, I'd contact them, they're pretty good about stuff like this.
Atlas is on vacation until next week, so you'll have to wait. However, my experience indicates that that you most likely can do this by phone and you'd get the new parts within a week after phoning.
