Greetings Folks, Here's a logging railbus kitbash I've been working on. It's an old MDC coach mounted on a Kato 11-106 mechanism. The new front was made with sections from another MDC coach. I still have to letter it and add more details, but it's a good start! -Cody
Very nice. I used the same chassis, those MDC parts come in handy too. http://www.trainboard.com/railimages/data/558/LoggingRailbus2.jpg http://www.trainboard.com/railimages/data/558/Railbus.jpg http://www.trainboard.com/railimages/data/558/Railbus_2.jpg
More pictures - PLEASE Very nice. More pictures - PLEASE! Side view, under construction, with body off, etc. Thanks.
Thanks allot Folks! Chris-yours is HOn30 right? And it was in the Light Iron Digest some time ago? It's a great railbus! elruddick-I'll get some more pictures for you soon. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures during construction, but I'll definitely post more when I work on it again... -Cody
Here's a similar one made Down Under. It's actually HOn30 but the concept is the same. http://members.optushome.com.au/duttonbay/97rm.html Cheers david
Cody, Yes it was LID a while back, but it is N scale. Gary meant to say it could just as easily be HOn30, but it does get confusing. In HOn30 the body would be a little bigger.
That's really cool! I have a couple of the HO overton coaches that I was thinking of converting to HOn3, but I'm thinking maybe some more railbusses are in order... Yes, two of them. Three window sections from a second shell where used for the front. Hopefully I'll have some time this weekend to work on it some more -Cody
This is looking really nice. There were tons of these little railbuses in every little logging operation. Those Kato 11-105/106/107 chassis are nice.
That was the Dec 2005/Jan 2006 issue. V7, #6. LID is a great magazine for anyone interested in this type of modeling! Boxcab E50
Very nice, Cody! Gave me many ideas for my urban scenes, with all the shorty passenger cars I acquired years ago.
