That F45 was sorely earned eye candy after that parade of UGLY. Have they no paint shop? Don't get me wrong, the MRL is a cool road with an interesting paint scheme, but the roster's looking pretty motley!
Verne - That's part of the attraction, isn't it ?! You mean you didn't like my ugliness? Be nice ! I will eventually paint a Kodachrome SD45 like pictured on the first page.
Paul- The SD40-2 is almost finished, but that may have to wait until the weekend. My computer wouldn't boot up on Monday so last night I figured out it has a bad hard drive. So I am using the kids computer. It wouldn't be so bad, but I can't help but think about the pictures that I lost .
You are most welcome. As for finding more SD45s, if you don't mind the qualty, Bachman makes one. At ~$60 it's a judgment call.
Hi there, I have just found this old post, but couldn't see pictures because of dead links. Any new engines painted into Montana Rail Link? I think MRL has a classy paint scheme, and I may want to start modelling it, especially with SD45 flared, and the newest SD70ACe. Tunnel Motor
From the factory, those SD70ACe units. I believe a couple of older diesels were recently outshopped. And in fresh paint. Done by CEECo in Tacoma. Boxcab E50
InterMountain will be releasing 3 or 4 MRL SD45-2s soon Athearn will be releasing at least 2 MRL FP45s soon Atlas will be releasing 4 or so SRY MP15DCs ... (SRY is MRL's Canadian sister) PWRS (Vancouver, BC) often has custom MRL models produced ( http://www.pwrs.ca/dyn.n_Custom_Painting.php ) As for making your custom models ... MRL operates one SD40-2 as well as a number of SD40-2XRs ... which are modified SD40s (and they retain the SD40 body) ... along with a bunch of SD35s, and other older equipment. MRL has a lot of custom "modified" engines ... which makes it fun (for some) to model as many look quite unique
