I cant seem to contact them. I placed an order almost 2 weeks ago, not billed yet, no shipment, sent 2 emails trying to ask them about the order and have been trying to call them forever and keep getting the busy signal.

Are they THAT busy? I have always had good service from them before, and am not all that worried, but I am a little dismayed, as I would have like to have had my order by now so I could be laying track.

Anyone have a sure fire way of getting through to them?

    Thanks

    Craig

Try this - it is a link to the email, phone & fax number for this place.

Only thing I can tell you otherwise is that this IS Christmas, and stores all over are busy with holiday shopping. I have no personal experience with BLW, so I can't tell you how to get hod of the boss-man personally, so perhaps these links may help.

The website did mention they have a problem with getting spam E-mails like crazy, so I wonder if your message may have been deleted by mistake. Keep trying- throw enough mud on the wall, something's bound to stick.

Good luck, and if you can, keep us posted.

When I was buying from them, they always seemed to be swamped. Chronically short of staff. Can't guess about today, as it's been years. If having that much trouble with spam, I'm sure they could take steps to reduce their troubles. Of course, you can never get completely rid of those slimers.

All you can do, is keep trying. This can be a very busy time of year.

Pete is usually pretty good about responding to e-mails. I buy most of my stuff through them. Sometimes it does take a little time to get stuff sent out. As Boxcab said this is the X-mas season. E-mails are usually answered fairly quickly. Bear with them, I think you will be happy with the service.

Yeah, I have always been happy with them before as well. This is the first time I have ordered and have had this much time go by without any kind of response.

Usually I order from them, I get an email, and the next day I have my order. This time, nothing in almost 2 weeks.

    Thanks everyone.

I've always felt that Brooklyn Loco Works was a great store. Super prompt responses and shipment, great communication. The one time I had a problem it was easy and quick to discuss it with Pete by email.

That being said, I'm a little freaked out myself. No word on the purchase that was supposed to be my Hannukah gift. Nothing, nada. Pete can't be reached by email, phone, OR fax. We can't even ask for money back so we can go to another store because he won't talk to us. For us it's been at least three weeks.

Part of me is worried: Did he die? Is he in the hospital? Did his shop burn down? The other part of me is beyond annoyed.

Craig...I have been receiving timely shipments from them lately...no problems whatsoever. Their web page is updated almost daily.

I have been a customer of BLW for about 20 years and always pleased. One suggestion is that when you order - be specific about shipping things all at once or holding items until they come in. I think the term I use is "ship or kill". Pete tries to hold stuff to save shipping costs...

Disclaimer - I'm just a happy BLW customer, and I know from experience that all of the well know N-scale e-tailers are pretty darned good.

Believe me when I say that I am not angry. Just concerned as I cant reach them. As I said, I have always been happy with them.

Anyone local that can touch base with them in person to pass the word for me?

    Thanks

Over the years, Pete has given me good service. Any problems were ironed out quickly. There have been a number of times when his response became slow. One of those times it was due to a family illness. Also, sometimes Pete seems to list things on an expected delivery--which then is delayed. That happened to me once. These type of events don't bother me, as they are normal in every business.

Thanks for the tip, Lou. That really helps to know, and it makes a lot of sense. I've always gone to BLW first for a reason.

For those worried about Pete's whereabouts it seems the site was updated today with the new announcement of new Kato maxi-iv's.

I know that doesn't do anything to help you with the order but someone mentioned Pete's health.

I have found Pete to be one of the most reliable and prompt e-tailers around. Only once did I have a problem and it was very quickly and equitably resolved. I'm a happy camper.

Pete's good, but can be hard to reach. I've managed to order items that were hard to find from him about 4 times now, and while he got them every time communication was lacking. e-mail replies were slow, catching him on the phone was hard.

I'd be relatively confident you'll get what you ordered. He may be holding waiting for something to come in that wasn't in stock. Reaching him may be frustrating, depending on how and when you try.

I use a different primary vendor as a result, but have no worries about ordering through Pete when I have to do so....

Hello, sorry for jumping in here but does anyone know if they have a retail store? I am just getting back into the hobby and by chance I will be in New York the last week of the year and will be one of those crazy people in Times Square. I was thinking of driving down to New Jersey to pickup some items in person.

I plan to call them next week to check out the store hours and to place my order (if they have one)

    Thanks...Ron

You should make the call but I'm thinking not. Pete not being an Athearn dealer influences my thinking.
