Here's a tiny little boxcar I assembled today from a Toma Model Works (http://homepage1.nifty.com/tfw/ws/main-e.html) etched brass kit. This kit was pretty easy, just a single etched fret and a length of wire. It's made to fit on a cut down Marklin z scale freight car. I ruined the roof while trying to bend it to the correct curve, so I replaced it with some thin bronze sheet I had on hand. I dented up the edges and it'll get painted to look pretty worn.I'm going to add a brakewheel somewhere and maybe a ladder, decals & weathering. A pretty fun & easy kit. -Cody
Looks good to me Cody. I like the shot with it next to a standard gauge box car. Really shows how small it is. Greg
Looks great! Perfect narrow gauge railroad situation . . .bent roof? Well it's going into service anyway, make it work somehow. :teeth:
That's a nice boxcar. I like it! Here's an Nn3 one I did a few years back. It's a D&RGW 3000 series boxcar. Erik
That is truely fantastic work guys!! When I was in N I really wanted to get into Nn3 but never found the time. Its just too cool for words John
Howdy Folks, I got around to finishing my little Toma boxcar. I changed the underframe with a scratchbuilt one with Micro Trains trucks and couplers, insted of the Marklin chassis the kit is designed for. I was weathered with washes and powders.
I also finished the four wheel boxcar with conductor's compartment, (also from Toma Model Works). It was mounted on the Marklin Z scale chassis, and weathered to a much less degree than the other one. It also has a 'painted-down' tissue paper roof. Regards, Cody
