Oh nooooooo. Then he will have to charge admission to visit his pike and "pay for view" to watch his videos. Oh the horror!!
Jerry, I just caught up with you and had to go back two pages to find your video. A day late and dollar short. You've done some fine work and the SP freight looked good as it hot shoted around the layout. Amtrak...really? Grin! I like the short consist and it looked good highballing down the rails. The full dome I take it, it's brass. Can't be a reworked Bachmann. Thanks for sharing the video.
Hey Jerry, just insluate the work space, don't worry about anything more than a space heater while you're out there and a portable A/C that can vent out the roll-up door bottom during the summer if you need it. My bigger concern with it being Alabama and no insulation is that it allows you to get a lot of condensation in there during the summer which will ruin everything.
And insulation will give your mice something else to build nests with instead of your poly fiber trees.
Yes, if I dont paint all sides of the scenery areas, I mean bottoms, sides and front.....they will warp and move in the moist air. Found that out early! No problem with the foam, which is another reason I like it on this layout too!
LOL Insulation? We don't need any stinking insulation...we need to run trains. Yep, got left behind. Watch, most likely I'm still not caught up and the conversation has turned to something else. Ok, who made the large dome? Don't tell me it is a Bachmann...rebuild. In that case, I want to know who you bought the sides from. Guessing it is a brass import.
Yes Rick, it is a brass model from Look Models. He sells only on EBay I believe. I have several of his models and they are very nice, but a little pricey. I usually catch him when he runs specials.
I'm going to model the last Santa Fe passenger train through Franklin Canyon, and it had this car. I'm not sure about the number but I am going to number this one the same as the one Russell and I rode in at one of the N Scale conventions in Portland. If I remember right without looking at photos it was the 505.
I think the Santa Fe numbered their single domes in the 500-505 series...maybe it was 506?...the first set of big domes were numbered from 506-513... Sincerely, Bruce
Mt Hood Scenic has two big domes, when we rode it in Aug, our train had two, but I didn't get the numbers.
