Holy cow. I just picked up an Intermountain steel reefer and it has dummy couplers. Must be older stock? Anyone know which MT coupler trucks work with this? (I don't have excell to open their conversion chart)

I used MTL 1025 body mounted couplers on these cars. The mounting hole is already cast in the floor (still needs to be drilled and tapped). Cut off the couplers from the trucks.
The alternative is to convert to MTL#1000 Bettendorf trucks or #1001 w/ low profile wheels if preferred.
The Intermountain trucks look not bad in my opinion, so I considerd to use them with the rigid knuckles on a fixed string of ore cars which shall run as a fixed consist.
My newer models using Atlas Accumate trucks were all converted to MTL#1001 Bettendorf trucks w/ low profile wheels, for uniformity and better looks.
I also consider to convert some cars I built from kits from Intermountain to MTL trucks, I have weighted the cars to NMRA recommendations and think MTL trucks will run slightly better.

    Download the reader!

You can download excel reader (powerpoint, too) for free. You won't be able to create spreadsheets or modify them, but you won't have to depend on the kindness of strangers :wink2: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/Browse.aspx?displaylang=en&categoryid=9

The pdf version of these files are available as a link on the same page. It's located on the right side above the brass conversion chart.
