I am fitting all my models with #58 couplers. They make #5's look hugely over scale!

At first, I forgot to change the one on the front of my 4-6-0.

Big difference. I have heard of these couplers and will probably change my few HO scale cars and engines, too.

Great ballast job, too, BTW. [IMG]

    Aolan:

I used the #58 on the few loco's and HO cars that I still have.

    They do look much better.

Stay cool and run steam.... [IMG]

Thanks Flash. The ballast is ok but needs a lot of weathering, plus some weeds [IMG]

    Thanks Alan,
Now that I spent about two years and a whole lot of $$$ on #5's I think I will have to stay with them. Could you tell me how the #5's and #58's go together. If it's a good match maybe I will switch to #58's on my newer stuff!! [IMG]

5's and 58's will operate fine together [IMG]

I make it a priority to buy at least 2 packages of 58's at every train show I go to. Just gotta make the time to put them on.

Yes, I have several pairs in stock, plus cars waiting for them! I will get them all changed eventually [IMG]

I have been putting in 58's since they came out several years ago. I have put them in about 20 or so peices of rolling stock and engines. They work great and the effect of the smaller look is excellent.

The big thing I find is that the suckers are so seemless w/ the other couplers (#5's etc). I will probably switch to them exclusively as my stock of 5's runs out.

I seen the 58's looked better when they came out but I already had over half my rolling stock fitted with #5's. Couldn't see just throwing them out and starting over. I will have to see how they match up and hold on to each other, then maybe I'll put #58's on my newer items. [IMG]

<font color="336633">I shall be using number 58's on all my stock, but will only be adding them when I get the detailing done on each car and loco (got way to many to do them all at once!)

#58's now available in packs of 20 and are compatible with the rest of the KD family.

One thought, on un-even track or cresting at the peak of a grade a # 5 could climb out of the
holding grip of the smaller # 58 head.

20-pack, great! I have been asking one of our UK hobby shops about bulk packs and he said they are not available. Is this a new addition?
