Help! I'm electrically challenged (the politically correct way of saying I don't know zilch about wiring a model railroad). I need someone to help wire my N-scale shelf layout in Marion, Iowa (Cedar Rapids). In return I'll be happy to help with the helper's layout. Email me at jgadney@earthlink.net or, if you're in the area, call 319-373-4820. Thanks. -- John Adney

    John,

What are the problems you are having it is not that difficult let me assure you.

Maybe you could post some questions here and we can let some of the experts here give you some advice?

Hello John, Whilst I cannot come over to help, if you can post a trackplan Draw it out for me, I can put all the power/insulated places on the trackplan for you. It is quite easy once you know just where to put things.
    Cheers

Thanks to those who responded to my plea for wiring help, both on this list and in emails to me. Two modelers from eastern Iowa have answered the call and we'll get together later this month. What I was looking for: someone to coach me to make sure I'm starting OK. Meanwhile, I continue to lay track as I wait the "day of power."

Hi all, just found this site..I think I am in heaven. I started an N scale layout last year and like John, I am not good with wiring. I want to have alot of turnouts on my layout as well as an engine house complete with motorized turnbridge. My local hobby guy talks way to technical for me....anyone in the Delaware area who can help out..maybe get together sometime to show me some tips

    Welcome Dave,

Glad you found this site and I hope you make it your modelling home. If you look back over previous topics here in The Inspection Pit and also the N scale forum you will find a wealth of information.

Once again welcome to Trainboard and if you need any help feel free to ask away. There is always someone willing to help out.
